Canadian Food Inspection Agency (C.F.I.A.)

In order to obtain the certification of our Bulk Bags, an extensive detailed application was required by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The CFIA wants to ensure the packaging materials used will not impart any undesirable substance to the Food product, either chemically or physically and shall protect the Food sufficiently to avoid contamination. In order for our Bulk Bags to be evaluated the following information was submitted.

• A letter of application.
• Identification of the material.
• Details in regard to the proposed usage (indicate the type of food to be packaged, temperatures at which food will be packaged, stored and reconstituted, etc.) and under certain circumstances, additional information, such as migration studies or extraction data, may be required.
• The complete chemical composition of the material listing the ingredients by percentage or quantitatively. Each component must be chemically identified and include the trade name and manufacturer.
• Identification of all chemical agents which are used during the manufacturing process as processing agents but are not components of the finished product.
• A sample of the material was submitted to the CFIA.

In September 2006, upon the CFIA reviewing our information and application, Global Material Handling Products Inc. was awarded with CFIA certification. A copy of our actual Certificate is available upon request.
